Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and if there’s one thing all moms love, it’s a beautiful handmade card! It doesn’t need to be perfect – it just has to be from you. Here’s an idea for a totally unique card she’ll adore…

Materials:

• Scrapbook paper (for banner triangles)

• Cardstock (for front and back of card)

• Glitter sticker paper (for gold hearts)*

• Scissors

• Marker, pencil or paint

• Hole punch

• Ribbon

• Glue

*A typical craft store has endless varieties of sticker paper. Find your favorite colors and patterns (or your mom’s!)  to use on your card.

Step 1: Cut out however many triangles you want for the banner (one letter per triangle).

Step 2: Write your message.  (Some ideas: I ♥ Mom, #1 Mom, Best Mom Ever)

Step 3: Layer all the triangles, the cover of the card, and the back of the card on top of each other. Punch two holes on either side on the top.

Step 4: Cut out hearts (or whatever shape you’d like!) from the glitter paper for the front and back of card.

Step 5: String the ribbon through the holes.

Step 6: Glue the ends of the ribbon to back of the front cover and the back cover of the card.

Step 7: Punch another hole through the front and back cover of the card in the middle of the paper. Cut a piece of ribbon to tie a bow through the holes.

Step 8: To close the card, wrap each triangle back to front on top of each other, then tie it up.

Ta-da!

When you unfold the card, it becomes a banner! (And she can hang it up all year long.)
