Each season our design team creates the coolest new rooms that you see here at PBteen, so today we’re going behind the scenes of one of our most recent favorites to share where our inspiration came from and share how you can get the look yourself. Take a look!
Our Inspiration: Winter sports, and more specifically — snowboarding! We wanted to create a cozy space that celebrates one of your favorite activities!
How We Did It: We chose a dramatic color palette for the walls and decor to give this space a bold feel, while keeping it warm with accents in orange and pool. We made the room feel a lot more personal with fun elements like a skateboard shelving unit that also provides storage, and we played up the wall with an oversized Burton mural. We also loved how the wood bed gave off a cabin vibe that feels rustic, cozy and ready for the snow!
How To Get The Look In Your Space: To make a smaller space feel cozy, try painting an accent wall in a dark grey like we did here. A shaggy rug and a beanbag also gives a room an extra-comfy feel.
Design Tip/Trick: Mix new and old, found and bought to make the room your own. A revitalized “detour” street sign, for example, was the perfect way to give this room some edge. Don’t be afraid to mix in your own vintage pieces!
